I’m having so much fun, can I stay on a bit longer?
We know that travel can be dynamic, intoxicating and unpredictable so we try to keep our policies flexible so we can change your cover if your travel changes.
Sometimes things out of your control change that can impact your travel arrangements, or perhaps something was simply off your radar when you set out your travel plans; things such as family or friends’ circumstances changing while you are away, you are just loving the place you are visiting and can’t bear to go home, just yet, or something happens which requires you to stay on longer than expected. Whatever the reason, if you have a policy with Easy Travel Insurance and you want to extend your trip, provided your policy has not expired, we can extend your cover as many times as you like (or need), for most destinations, up to a total of 12 months maximum duration from your first date of travel.
How do extend my cover?
To extend a current policy, you will need to get in touch with us.
If you are not able contact us directly, if say you don’t have phone or internet connectivity, you can also ask a friend or family member to get in touch on your behalf.
We will need the person requesting the extension to provide the policy number, the new return date and we will also require you to provide a payment method to process the extension. You can get in touch with via email, you can call us on 1300 327 984, or talk to our team with the Chat feature.
What if I do not have a current policy?
If your policy has lapsed, (either an Easy Travel Insurance policy or one from another provider) don’t despair; in many cases we can still help. In this case, we would not be extending a policy, we would need to issue a new policy. If you do not have a current policy with us and we issue a new policy for you while you are on your trip this cover is subject to a 3 day no-cover period which means there is no cover or benefit for anything that has already happened or that happens in the first 3 days of you buying a new policy.
Do I need to extend my Easy Travel Insurance policy if I am delayed?
If you are delayed through any claimable event or unforeseen circumstances out of your control, we will not need you to get in touch to extend, as your policy will automatically extend free of charge. (Conditions apply).
